Deb Friedel, Director of Sustainability

Deb Holmstrom-Freidel has been promoted to Director of Sustainability for DNC Parks & Resorts, reporting to Scott Socha. Deb brings 5 years of operational experience she developed at Yellowstone National Park. Deb has been at Yellowstone National Park from our first days of operating having implemented GreenPath and an integrated interpretation philosophy, to facility restoration at the Old Faithful and Mammoth Stores.

Deb grew up in Wisconsin where the legacy of renowned conservationist Aldo Leopold resonates.  Her passion for natural resources, education, and conservation were cultivated at a young age. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 1993 and a Master of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology and Environmental Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1998.

We are at an exciting time of furthering our Stewardship of the Environment, Stewardship of Historic Structures and Artifacts, and Stewardship of Interpretation and Education vision and values in DNC Parks & Resorts. We need your continued commitment to succeed. We regard these special places as far more than destinations, we tell the stories of these special places so that they are as authentic and meaningful to our guests as they are to us. As we work to preserve and protect these special places, it is our hope they will live forever in the hearts and minds of all those who experience them.
