GreenPath® is driven by the identification and evaluation of significant environmental aspects (SEA). That is, those elements of an organization’s activities or products and services that have or can have a significant impact on the environment. The significant environmental impacts provide a focus in establishing goals and prioritizing objectives, targets and programs to achieve overall continuous environmental improvement. Delaware North’s properties are indeed unique and special, yet they share significant environmental aspects such as:

- Materials use;
- Non-hazardous waste/hazardous waste; and Environmental interpretation.
Guided by GreenPath®, we are committed to the following:
- Reduce fossil fuel usage by 30%
- Increase usage of renewable energy to provide 10% of total electricity consumed
- Reduce energy consumption by 30%
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30%
- Divert from landfill 70% of all solid waste generated
- Generate minimal hazardous waste
- Reduce water consumption
- Reduce use of chemicals and toxic materials and purchase lower risk chemicals and toxic materials from top priority list
- Assemble or renovate buildings in accordance with sustainability strategies, including resource conservation, reduction, and use, sitting, and indoor environmental
- quality immediately for each project.
- Increase purchases of environmentally sound goods and services, including biobased, energy-efficient, water-efficient, and recycled content products 25% .
- Increase our item selection of product Made in the USA by 25%
- Increase purchases of sustainable food products by 50%
These stewardship goals are aligned with the President’s Executive Order 13423 that directs all Executive Branch agencies to strengthen Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management and is administered by the Officer of the Federal Environmental Executive.
Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts measures "sustainable" cuisine standards as follows:
- 100% Vendor traceability for food safety and tracking.
- 100% trans fat free oils used in frying and food preparation.
- No use of added hormones in the production of meats, fish, chicken and poultry.
- 100% compliance with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Guidelines.
- 100% Serv Safe Certification for Chefs and Managers.
- 25% (minimum) food purchases will be Certified Organic.
- Maximize usage of locally grown and produced foods and beverages.
- Vendors must conform with Delaware North’s safety and traceability standards.
