As vice president of business development for Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, Scott Socha is responsible for expanding the company’s portfolio of special places. Under his leadership, the company has grown to include additional company-owned hotels and new contracts.
A seasoned finance director, Scott assumed the duties of vice president of finance for the company in 2004. He accepted business development duties in 2007, while keeping his finance responsibilities. Under these titles, he has directed the financial and account procedures, monitored financial operations and analyzed operational performance for Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts. At the same time, he was evaluating new business opportunities and room for future growth. In 2009, he relinquished his finance title in order to focus completely on business development.
Scott began his career with Delaware North Companies in 1999 as manager of financial planning and analysis for Delaware North Travel Hospitality Services. He transferred to Parks & Resorts in 2002 and has worked his way up since. Prior to joining Delaware North, he held positions with Delphi Automotive Systems and taught various accounting and finance courses at both the Jacobs School of Management of the University at Buffalo, and Medaille College.
He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University at Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. John Fisher College.
